Great News from London - WE DID IT AGAIN!

Forta PRO is excited to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalist for “International Offsite Project of the Year Award” for our Kvarteret Jylland project in Sweden.

The Offsite Awards – is a recognized provider of the best examples of modular technology from around the world. The chosen projects show excellence in any aspect of the industry, ensuring that all benefits of the offsite building process have been celebrated - recognizing the design and technology that makes these inspiring projects possible.  Thanks for the Award organizers and judges for shortlisting our rental apartments project for the prestigious category!

“Kvarteret Jylland”  345 rooms student accommodation in Kista, Stockholm, Sweden. The project mission is to build modern, sustainable and attractive premises for young people in Kista, the Northern part of Stockholm. The project is located in a residential area close to Kista Science City, the leading ICT cluster in Europe. The cluster is home to some of the world’s most famous ICT companies as well as a range of exciting startups and the leading universities of Stockholm. Kista is well connected to Stockholm city center and the Arlanda motorway.

Project Jylland is a perfect example of how modular construction comes to life. During pandemic and various global challenges, the project was produced offsite and carried out with minimal disturbances. Combining two offsite technologies - prefabricated concrete core and modules, the client achieved symbiosis between subcontractors and minimized necessary labour on-site, construction period and surrounding area disturbance. For example, during modules assembly a kindergarten was operating, without any disturbances, right next to construction site.

The choice of modular technology was dictated by the client's desire to implement the project quickly and efficiently, without street closure. Considering the volume of the project, it was important to observe the quality of the finishing of the premises, the installation of systems and furniture that can be guaranteed in the factory environment. The design was created considering all customer standards and Sweden's requirements for reliable and quality living. Both teams worked close to the design team of the General contractor.

Teamwork is the key- precise negotiation of split responsibility from the beginning of the project allows the customer to plan their work, cash flow, and, at the end of the day, return of investments.  During the time period of 02/12/2020 – 23/03/2021 Forta PRO assembled 178 modules with 345 completed rooms, 3 common areas and corridors. Basically, 4 buildings were assembled onsite in nearly 4 months, which is record speed that cannot be reached using traditional (onsite) methods of construction.

Forta PRO Project Manager, Janis Priede says: “Considering populated areas, using Forta PRO offsite technologies was the perfect solution for all involved parties – clients, side-contractors, neighbours, and surrounding businesses”.

Offsite technology allows customers to get top quality products assembled onsite, precise material consumption, controlled environment, team of quality controllers ensures that modules are being put together according to designed drawings and standards.
